Iboga from our own cultivation, grown in its own time.

Buy iboga: root bark and extracts directly from the grower

Most suppliers of iboga in Europe are dealers. They buy, pack and resell. We have grown our own since 2014, on our own fields in Ghana, and that changes one thing above all: we know what is in the pack, because we know the plant it comes from.

What you get here is therefore not anonymous powder from a sack, but goods from a named batch with a measured value.

Why the batch matters more than the price

Iboga is a natural product, and natural products vary. A single iboga shrub yields at most one kilogram of root bark over its entire life, and the alkaloid content differs with every plant. Anyone who packs a delivery untested sells two packs with clearly different content in the same week without noticing.

That is why we do the same before every packing:

  1. The whole delivery is ground.
  2. It is thoroughly mixed so that no part is stronger than another.
  3. Three samples are taken from different places.
  4. These samples are measured with two independent methods.

Only then is it packed. That is why a 10-gram pack from a batch carries the same value as the 50-gram pack from the same delivery. With a grown root that is not a given, it is exactly this effort.

Where our iboga comes from

We started cultivating our own fields in Ghana in 2014. Iboga is a patient plant: it takes 15 to 20 years before a root can be harvested. Our first own harvests are therefore still ahead.

Until then we buy from fair trade in Cameroon and Central Africa. Our 3.4 percent bark comes from Cameroon, the 5 percent bark from Central Africa. We say this so clearly because both are true at the same time and because you should know which pack comes from where.

Anyone who writes "own cultivation" and means intermediate trade is selling a story. We sell root bark and tell you where it comes from.

Root bark, Total Alkaloid, HCl and essence: what is the difference?

What it isDegree of processingContentForm
Root barkthe dried, ground bark of the root of Tabernanthe ibogaunprocessed3.4 % or 5 % ibogainepowder
Total Alkaloid (TA)extract from the root bark with the complete alkaloid spectrumconcentrated65 %powder
Hydrochloride (HCl)the isolated, chemically purified salt form of a single alkaloidisolated98 %powder
Essencealcohol extract from root bark and Total Alkaloid extractliquidno lab value availableliquid

To put the numbers in perspective: the content of Total Alkaloid is around thirteen times higher than the 5 percent root bark and almost twenty times higher than the 3.4 percent bark. Five grams of TA correspond to the alkaloid content of about 65 grams of the 5 percent bark.

The essential difference between TA and HCl is not strength but composition: TA contains the whole spectrum of the plant, HCl a single substance.
